Microsoft have announced the release of the Surface Pro 4, the latest addition to their line of tablet-laptop hybrids that revolutionized the market. Surface Pro 4 is thinner, lighter, has more processing power, and has a slightly larger display than its predecessors.
This is technically Microsoft’s first ever laptop.
The Surface Pro 4 runs on Intel Skylake processors and comes pre-installed with Windows 10.
“This challenge of the tablet and the laptop… which do you buy? Remember that problem? It’s gone. We want to make these the most productive devices on the planet.”
– Panos Panay (Head of Microsoft’s Surface team)
Surface Pro 4 has a 12.3-inch display, and the new keyboards come with inbuilt fingerprint sensors.
The new Surface Pen has 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity now, and it’s integrated with Cortana. Just press the button on the side and you can issue commands to the Surface. It also has an eraser tail and interchangeable colored tips.
The Surface Pro 4 weighs 1.6 pounds, is 7.7mm thin, and has a 12-hour battery life.
